It also helps France cement its stance as the US and China seem to be siding with the arguments concerning EU nations strengthening the border that resides at the mention of Nuclear Power plants. Nuclear energy still dominates France's energy collection as up to 70% of its electricity is generated through it. The new unit construction is expected to add to the current fleet of plants as well as assist in the gradual retirement of older reactors that have outlived their effectiveness.
